Painting with Light. 

Target Group: – Pupils in Y5/6 whose behaviour is causing concern and who may be at risk of exclusion and who also may be identified as having difficulties with social interaction and communication.

Purpose:-

• To provide a vehicle through which pupils can express feelings and viewpoints about themselves and the world around them ,using the medium of photography.

• To promote resilience, resourcefulness, responsibility, communication and social skills.

• To make links with targets for Literacy and Numeracy.

The Set Up :-

5 Half Day workshops facilitated by Published Industry Professional Photographer Ben Webster and Education Consultant Nicky Beattie.

Workshop  1.   Identity. This workshop can be bought as a “stand alone” session or linked to the other four.

Workshop  2.   Sport.

Workshop  3.   Nature.

Workshop  4.   People.

Workshop  5.   Animals.

Pupils will work collaboratively with each other in school for half a day to produce digital images which can then be edited for printing. Ben will provide the cameras and lighting.

There is the opportunity for the provision of a free Gallery Event so that the finished images can be shared with a wider audience.
